This moderate 4.1-mile (6.7 km) hiking loop offers a fantastic blend of Acadia's diverse landscapes, from tranquil waters to rugged peaks. You'll start with a peaceful walk along the Jordan Pond Path, enjoying views of the iconic North and South Bubbles reflected in the clear water. The trail transitions from smooth gravel to rocky sections and boardwalks, leading to a steep, rewarding climb up the South Bubble Trail. Expect to spend around 2 hours and 3 minutes on this route, which includes 633 feet (193 metres) of elevation gain.

The Jordan Pond Path is generally family-friendly, but the ascent to South Bubble involves steep, uneven granite and some minor scrambling, requiring appropriate footwear and a bit more effort. Consider combining your hike with a visit to the Jordan Pond House for its famous popovers.
