1446 a church in peas is mentioned for the first time. Today's parish church of St. Vitus was built in the Middle Ages, rebuilt in the 17th century and later expanded. It is a quarry stone building with a neo-Romanesque round apse in the east and a narrow belfry like a ridge turret in the west. The church was built on the Kirchberg, a spur of the Hopfenberg, south of the town.

You can get to the church from different directions, either via a small footpath from the direction of "Höbelweg", via the access road "Auf dem Kirchberg" or an agricultural path from the direction of "Mühlenweg". The Erbser Friedhof is right next to the church and next door is a turning area with a small playground.
