Hiking

Where huge amounts of earth and stones used to be transported through the landscape, the asphalt "Speedway" now invites you to safely cycle, inline skate and go for a walk. In 2012, the Forum :terra nova opened on the edge of the Hambach opencast mine in Elsdorf-Berrendorf-Wüllenrath, a viewing and visitor forum with a restaurant attached. From there, the huge bucket wheel excavators can be observed at work in the opencast mine.
