The monastery Traunkirchen is a former monastery of the Benedictine nuns and then the Jesuits in Traunkirchen. Around 1020, Count Wilhelm von Raschenberg-Reichenhall, who was versed with the family of the Margraves of Styria and Eppensteiner, Benedictine nuns from the monastery Nonnberg and built the first Women's monastery in the area of today's Upper Austria. These rebuilt the monastery in 1327 after it had been completely destroyed by fire.
