    Hiking

Since the 1990s, the Bremen nature conservation authority has been planning a biotope on the 25-hectare area on the Kreuzdeich to compensate for large-scale sealing, especially for the residential areas of Borgfeld-West and Borgfeld-Ost. The basis for this is B-Plan 2253, Part B.
A floodplain biotope and a dyked water retention basin (polder) are to be created.

The aim is to transform the area into a floodplain landscape, including a shallow water lake with fluctuating water levels typical of the floodplain, reed beds and willow bushes.
