The region was once part of the vast Sylva Carbonaria, which stretched from the Terdoppio and Agogna rivers to the Ticino and Po.
In the Middle Ages, a royal fief was recognized here.
Casoni served as one of the main locations for the shooting of the famous 1984 film “Il ragazzo di campagna”, directed by Castellano and Pipolo and starring Renato Pozzetto.
