Geghard monastery The rooms partly carved into the rock and the use of caves are characteristic. Peculiarities of Armenian architecture such as Gawit or Khachkar can also be found here. The monastery is one of the most important testimonies of the Armenian Apostolic Church and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000.
