On October 28, 1912, Karl Michael Haider died in his adopted home of Schliersee. The sculptor Hermann Lang created his tomb. It can still be seen today in the cemetery of the parish church of St. Sixtus. Lang also made the bronze bust of the painter, which watches over the magnificent landscape high above the Schliersee on the so-called stronghold, the site of the former home of the noble Waldecker family. A stone bench invites you to linger and commemorate this talented but long-unrecognized painter.
