The 'Villa Doris' on the Zeedijk in Middelkerke is a building with a neo-rococo influence that was built around 1899 to a design by the Brussels architect Albert Dumont. Striking are the loggia on the ground floor and the wavy bay window, which is continued above the cornice as a dome tower. The facade contains decorative elements, such as sculpted shells with incorporated sea motifs and framed casements. In 1980, the building was protected as a monument. It is now enclosed between recent apartment buildings of ten floors.
