This strip of Caerphilly Road, locally know as the Mad Mile, is a long stretch of straight, smooth road with a fair incline - especially if you’re going in the direction of Caerphilly. Just be weary that motorists tend to speed up on this stretch as much as cyclists do.

Heading away from Caerphilly along this stretch you can see the incline just waiting to test your legs, gets a bit narrow under the rail bridge, as Craig says look out for speeding motorists
