The Christkönigskirche was built in 1936 to plans by Max Schätzle. It was consecrated by Wilhelm Burger, the then auxiliary bishop. Because of the Second World War, an air raid shelter under the church was built shortly after construction.

The central motif of the fountain on the square in front of the Christ König Church is three stylized and greatly enlarged tulip blossoms. While Fritz Moser worked exclusively representationally before World War II, in Rüppurr he interpreted the subject matter in the style of the art of the 60s of the last century, rather abstractly. The artist was born in Freiburg in 1898 and died in Karlsruhe in 1991. He studied under Prof. Georg Schreyögg at the former State Art School in Karlsruhe. He worked in his sculptor's studio on Diakonissenstraße in Rüppurr until old age.
