The quaint half-timbered building at the entrance to Bierlings is popularly known as the "Zollhäuschen" (customs house). It was once the office of Martin Seifer's sawmill. The sawmill ceased operations in the mid-1960s for economic reasons. The sawmill building was demolished in 2005, leaving only a storage shed and the Zollhäuschen.
