Excellent visitor center with maps and nature info for Big Sur State Park, stretching for miles south along the coast and deep into the rugged hinterland. It used to be the trailhead for the overnight Pine Ridge hike to the wild Sykes Hotspring, which is closed for several years due to landslides.
