Hiking
The former district of Deutsch Krone was located in West Prussia (later Pomerania). In January 1945, the district of Demmin became the reception district for the evacuated population from the cleared district of Deutsch Krone. Many refugees from this area and other parts of East and West Prussia, as well as Hinterpommern, were in and around Demmin in the spring of 1945.
