Hiking

The only square tower in the curtain wall. In earlier times, mentally disturbed people and thieves were housed here, but also naughty young people. The tower had a pointed roof until around 1800, today it has a flat roof again. Inside is a false ceiling. The entrance is from the back, and a little further to the north is the only preserved high round tower. (Source: information sign)

The “Fools' House” is a square tower on the curtain wall, the preserved part of the northern city fortifications. The fool's house was once used to house the “mentally ill”.
