This is the only path that leads over the walls of the Caldera. It is part of the old road that used to connect both sides of the island, known as the Camino de Chasna.
The path leads up from La Cañada del Montón de Trigo to La Degollada between the mountains of Pasajirón and Guajara. In the Canary Islands the word 'degollada' means hill.
The view from the hilltop is spectacular, overlooking Teide National Park and the southern side of Tenerife.
