The Valencia - El Saler - Sueca trail invites you on a coastal bike ride along the Mediterranean, offering a delightful blend of natural and cultural landscapes. The route immerses you in the heart of the Albufera Natural Park, where extensive rice fields and marshes create a picturesque backdrop, ideal for birdwatching. As you progress, you'll enjoy views of beaches, sand dunes, and pine forests, especially around El Saler, making for a visually rewarding experience.
This easy cycling route, with a distance of 18.2 miles (29.2 km) and an elevation gain of only 288 feet (88 metres), can be completed in approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Most of the route is flat and paved, making it accessible for cyclists of all levels. You can easily start your adventure from Valencia, a city with excellent cycling infrastructure, and no special permits are needed to enjoy this tour.
What makes this route particularly special is its passage through the Albufera Natural Park, a wetland of great ecological importance and a key spot for migratory birds. In addition to nature, you'll have the opportunity to pass through traditional coastal villages and, if you take a slight detour, visit El Palmar, famous for its Valencian paella. It's an excellent option to combine gentle exercise with an immersion in local culture and scenery.
