The Doldersummerveld is a vast moist heath reserve, located on the flank of the stream valley of the Vledder- and Wapserveensche Aa, north of Doldersum. The field is part of the Drents-Friese Wold National Park. The wet heathland changes on the north side into a bumpy, former drifting sand area, which means that there is a lot of variation in soil composition, water management and elevation.
