Hiking
The Straussee is a glacial channel lake. It is still 3.8 km long and up to 340 m wide. The water level has been falling continuously since 2014. Even the outdoor swimming pool on the city side had to be closed because of this. A citizens' initiative is trying to find measures to stop the decline in water levels.

Hiking
The entire hiking trail along the lakeshore is highly recommended. Beautiful in the forest and always with a view of the water and the city.
