In Hatzenhofen there is a listed Marienkapelle (St. Mary's Chapel), which is considered a striking religious landmark of the village. It is located south of the river Ussel. The chapel is a small saddle-roofed building from the 19th century. Such chapels were often built by villagers as places of private devotion. The name "Maria, gegrüßet seist du" (Hail Mary) refers to the beginning of the Ave Maria, the central basic prayer of Catholic Marian devotion.
