Road cycling

The Eltenberg is a nice little hill in the village of Elten, at the Dutch-German border. It has a nice little viewing platform and multiple climbs to the top, both for roadies and off-roadies. Nice for touring (and stopping for a coffee) but also nice for a sporty challenge.

Beautiful climbing in beautiful surroundings. Not too heavy altimeters, not a very long climb. The climb from the south-west side, through the woods via a beautiful so-called hollow road, is the most beautiful. That is an asphalt one-way street, which (if you respect the traffic signs) you can only take from this side. That is not the way out of built-up areas described in this highlight.

Road cycling

The climb of the Eltenberg starting from the city center is punchy climb on a brick road to the top. The climb is sort of divided by a short flat section in between, so don't think make the mistake to think that you've already made it to the top there is still a little bit to go!
