Road cycling
Þingvellir (Thingvellir) is a historical site and national park in Iceland, east of Reykjavík, known for the Althing, the parliament of Iceland from the 10th to the 18th centuries. There you will also find the Thingvellir Church and the remains of old stone houses. The park is located in a rift zone that was created by the drifting apart of two tectonic plates. In the Almannagjá Gorge, this is visible in the imposing crevices and cracks.
