One of two mountains by this name, Slieve Snaght (Sliabh Sneacht) translates to ‘snow mountain’ and earns its name by keeping snow on its peak unseasonably late into the spring. At 2,018 feet (615 m), its position on the Inishowen peninsula makes it one of Ireland’s most northerly mountains, and on particularly clear days, you can see across the sea to Scotland.

Slieve Snaght is a mountain in the middle of the Inishowen peninsula of County Donegal, Ireland. It rises to a height of 615 metres (2,018 ft), making it the highest mountain in Inishowen and is one of the northernmost mountains of Ireland. It should not be confused with the mountain of the same name in the nearby Derryveagh range. It is an Irish Hewitt and has a trig pointed summit.
