Hiking

The Wachthubel is a gentle vantage point at around 1414 meters above Marbach. Despite its moderate height, it offers a surprisingly wide panoramic view over the Emmental, the Schrattenfluh, and all the way to the Alps. The grassy summit is easily accessible and ideal for enjoyable hikes. Benches invite you to linger, while the quiet location far from large tourist crowds is particularly appreciated.

The three communities Eggiwil, Schangnau and Escholzmatt-Marbach meet at the Wachthubel, the main summit of the Obere Fluh. On the promising summit there is a rest bench from which you can enjoy wide views over the Emmental, the Hohgant and the Schrattenfluh.
