The predecessor of today's town hall had also stood on the same site for approximately 100 years at the beginning of 1911. The construction of a new town hall, in conjunction with the establishment of a fire station and jail, was first discussed at the town council meeting on May 3, 1910. It was the then-mayor, Hetkamp, who presented the plans for the new town hall to the town council on June 7, 1910.

Located right in the town center, at the eastern end of the nave of the Catholic parish church of St. Martin on Kirchstraße, the Sendenhorst town hall celebrated its 100th anniversary in the autumn of 2011.
