The Wemken family cultivates a total of 75 hectares of land. 24 hectares of grassland and 47 hectares of arable land on which maize and grain are grown. The main line of business is laying hens. A total of 14,790 laying hens live on the farm (5,790 barn and 9,000 free-range). Approximately 13500 eggs are collected every day. The eggs from the barn are sorted, coded, packed in the packing station and delivered to Edeka and Bünting under the name “Ammerländer Eier” on the shelves. The free-range eggs are marketed under the Goldmarie brand (goldmarie-welt.de) through the Bünting Group.
