The Tees Transporter Bridge is the longest working transporter bridge in the world. It has been an iconic symbol of Teesside's engineering and industrial heritage since opening in 1911. The Grade II-listed structure connects Middlesbrough to Port Clarence and crosses the River Tees using a gondola suspended from the bridge. The crossing takes 90 seconds. The bridge is 851 feet (259 m) long and stands at a height of 160 feet (49 m).
