This canal was dug from 1843-1846 on behalf of and funded by the city of Eindhoven. Its length is 13.9 kilometers. Business parks of Eindhoven, Geldrop, Mierlo, and Helmond are located on this canal. The Kleine Dommel and the Goorloop go under with a diver.
