The hamlet of Castel Cavallino is located north-west of Urbino, about halfway between Gadana and Schieti. It is located on the top of a hill from which you can see the Foglia valley below and all the surrounding hills. The central nucleus of the town consists of an ancient fortified village, built in that place due to its strategic position. Worth visiting is the Pieve di San Cassiano, an ancient Romanesque parish church not far from the hamlet.
