It was opened in 1910; it was destroyed, together with the whole country, by the bombings of the First World War, during the Strafexpedition of 1916; after the war it was rebuilt following the original project; in the 1980s it was renovated, with some modifications, to become the headquarters of the Unione Montana Spettabile Reggenza dei Sette Comuni.
