The object known today as the Bone Tower is, as historical sources clearly indicate, a powder tower. The name bone tower was not built until the year 1890, when one part of the city wall was removed during the construction of the north-south pen road and also destroyed numerous burials of the cemetery north and east of the Minster St. Alexander Cathedral. The bones of the destroyed burials were stored for a short time in the powder tower, giving it its new name. (...)
