Nahant is the birthplace of American tennis, where James Dwight and Frederick Sears played the nation’s first lawn tennis match in 1874. To celebrate the 150th anniversary, the town hosted a vibrant tournament, where players wore vintage attire and swung wooden rackets in a nod to history. Today, the Nahant Tennis Club still carries forward this tradition.
