The dam is currently closed and cannot be crossed. On the left bank you can reach a very technical trail.

Hiking
The Community of Madrid has many secret and little-known sites that are of great scenic and historical importance, such as the old dam of the Aulencia river, located between Valdemorillo and Colmenarejo to the northwest of the community, commonly known as the Valmenor reservoir, an old dam that retains the waters of the Aulencia river after being released by the Valmayor reservoir dam 2 kilometers upstream, one of the most important in the community in terms of water supply behind the Atazar.

To get to the Aulencia river dam, the best route is the one that leaves from the Pino Alto de Valdemorillo urbanization. You can also go from Colmenarejo or even from Villanueva del Pardillo going up the Aulencia river ravine, although those are more complicated.
