The access path from the car park is well signposted; in the area of the ruin at the foot of the tower, there are several picnic benches for resting. The tower can be accessed via an external staircase, and the platform offers a magnificent panoramic view.
A legend tells: During the Thirty Years' War, Croatian mercenaries quartered in the already plundered castle and terrorized the villages until the peasants took revenge with scythes and flails – the place name 'Grawatt' near Güdesweiler is a reminder of this to this day.
