The town of Monieux, in addition to its medieval village, has a Romanesque chapel built under a rock shelter and dedicated to Saint Michel. It is located in the Nesque gorges. Another rock shelter located a little further away houses a prehistoric camp 130,000 years old: Le bau de l’Aubesier

Monieux is a charming village, close to the Gorges de la Nesque. The square that overlooks the Lavender restaurant with its Art Nouveau style fountain, its old alleys, its craftsmen's houses, and its location leaning against the cliff, everything is in line for you to have a pleasant time in these places.
