    Hiking

The Wurm / Worm flows between Rimburg Castle and the town of Rimburg, which is also the border between Germany and the Netherlands. The bridge that connects the two countries is guarded by a turtle on each side.

The bridge over the Worm was about 2000 years ago, in Roman times, tens of meters to the north. This was then a wooden club bridge. The village of Rimburg was created around this bridge. Half of the Roman Rimburg is now on German territory, the Worm is now the border. In Roman times, the bridge was not a border crossing. The bridge is the starting point of the Via Belgica Route in the Netherlands. This route is indicated by black signs with the text ViaBelgica. You can follow the 70km long route to Maastricht.
