Eastern Trailhead for the coastal trail, probably San Francisco's most spectacular nature path, leading around the forested cliffs at the city's North-Western corner overlooking the entrance to the Golden Gate. The 2.3 mile trail follows the bed of an earlier Steam train line built in the 1880s to bring customers to Adolphe Sutro's bath complex at Lands End, but frequent landslides made a rail and later a road along the cliffs too costly to maintain.

At the Lands End sign park or push your bike 30 yards (no biking allowed on this gravel trail, it narrows and turns into stairways) to the benches with a panoramic view of the Golden Gate
