The estate's history dates back to the 14th century, when individual farms in the village belonged to various noble families (including Muggesfeld, von Maltzan, von Voß, von Woosten, and von Parsow). Parts of the manor house may date from the mid-18th century.
The current building was constructed in 1912 as a new building, replacing an older, dilapidated manor house. It was commissioned by Ulrich Heinrich Carl Fritz Bahlcke (sometimes also referred to as Schwanitz) – a representative, two-story building with sophisticated architecture, including a square and a round tower, as well as Neo-Baroque elements.
