Important to come here to check the tide times for crossing Worm's Head. The Causeway' is a scramble over rocks out to Worm's Head which is open for 2.5 hours either side of low tide, and fatal to attempt to wade or swim to when the causeway is flooded. Disturbed waters round the Worm, connected with the tidal rise and fall, are a danger to small craft, fishing boats, coasteerers and surfers. The tidal rise is the second highest in the world, the highest is The Bay of Fundy, Nova Scotia on Canada's East Coast. There are steep, dangerous cliffs.

The Rhosili Headland Walk is a moderate hiking route that guides you along the dramatic coastline of the Gower Peninsula. This 6.1-mile (9.9 km) journey involves a total elevation gain of 501 feet (153 metres) and typically takes around 2 hours and 49 minutes to complete. As you hike, you will traverse cliff tops and vibrant heathland, with panoramic views stretching across Rhosili Bay and out to the iconic Worm's Head. Keep an eye out for the sparkling blue-green water visible on clear days, and enjoy the refreshing sea air as you explore this stunning area. You will find the terrain varied, offering both open vistas and more sheltered paths.

When planning your visit, be aware that extending your hike to Worm's Head requires careful timing with the tides; the causeway is only exposed for about 2.5 hours on either side of low tide. The trail includes uneven terrain and some steep stone steps, so sturdy walking boots are highly recommended for your comfort and safety. You will also pass through active farmland with gates, where ponies and cattle graze year-round, so please keep dogs on a lead and close gates behind you. Parking is available near the trailhead, but it can get busy during peak season.

This route is renowned for showcasing the natural beauty of the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a unique blend of coastal and pastoral landscapes. Beyond the striking views of Worm's Head, you will also glimpse Fall Bay and the historic
