Since July 2008 a 3.60 meter high and 2.40 meter wide summit cross has graced the Ottilienberg.
Until about 400 years ago there was a small chapel on the northwest edge, dedicated to Saint Odilia, the patron saint of the blind and the mentally ill. The chapel on Ottilienberg was probably destroyed in the period of church upheaval around 1606. At that time, the walls and roof were plunged down the steep slope.
A tour over the Ottilienberg is particularly worthwhile in spring during the wild garlic season.
