In the center of the village is the Hellish Pond, why it is so named is beyond my knowledge.
Another highlight here is an atonement cross of the stone signpost and the war memorial of World War 2. A nice town center.

The legend says in 1115 Count Hoyer von Mansfeld stabbed Count Siegfried von Orlamünde here.
Count Hoyer died shortly afterwards at the Battle of Welfesholz.
