After several changes of ownership over the centuries, the mill was bought by the municipality of Beverstedt in 1991 and extensively restored between 1991 and 1995.
The Heimatvetein of the municipality of Beverstedt looks after the mill, which can still be used to grind flour for demonstration purposes. Sightseeing tours can be arranged with the Heimatvetein.
