Embark on the Echo Canyon Loop Trail, an easy 4.0-mile (6.4 km) hike that takes you through the stunning Chiricahua National Monument. You will gain 694 feet (211 metres) in elevation, with an estimated duration of 1 hour and 56 minutes. The route winds through a true "Wonderland of Rocks," showcasing spectacular rhyolite formations, including towering spires and balanced rocks. A highlight is the Grottoes, a unique maze of tunnels and a stone hallway worn between giant boulders, providing an otherworldly experience as you hike.

When planning your visit, be aware that the trail is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers due to its steep and rocky nature. Pets are also not allowed on the upper trails through the rocks, which helps protect sensitive flora and fauna and ensures safety on narrow paths. While the loop can be completed in under two hours, consider allowing 3 to 4 hours to fully immerse yourself in the scenery and capture photographs.

This popular loop offers a chance to explore the unique geological formations of Chiricahua National Monument, known for its distinctive rhyolite rock. You will encounter diverse scenery, transitioning from sunlit rock formations to densely wooded areas within Echo Park. The trail provides stunning canyon and mountain views, making it a memorable experience for anyone seeking to discover the natural beauty of this Arizona landmark.
