One of the few stretches where the Pacific Crest Trail actually follows the crest of the Sierra, running along the narrow ridge high above Donner Lake. Just below the North side of Anderson Peak the trail splits, with a short spur leading to Benson Hut, the main route leading around the western slope of Anderson Peak.
