In the last few years, a combination of forest and meadowland has been created as a recreational area on the now 71 hectare area.
Deciduous and noble hardwoods such as oak, ash, maple, cherry, beech and alder have been planted in the Emder Stadtwald. (see planting list). These woods are surrounded by native shrubs, resulting in a graded forest edge. In the first years, the still young forest remains fenced off, so that it is protected from game bite.

Cycling
In addition to the main paths, which are very easy to cycle, there are many branches left and right. A really nice area with a high recreational value.
