The political border between the districts of Northeim and Holzminden running through the Amtsberge corresponds to the former border between the Kingdom of Hanover (KH) and the Duchy of Braunschweig (HB). Boundary stones from this time have been preserved on the county road halfway between Mackensen and Denkiehausen and stand amicably next to the newer stones of the district boundary. By the way, the border is lined with trees on both sides of the street like a gate.
