We go here often and enjoy it. Most of the time we go here alone. There is not much going on, you could say it is rather lonely

Very close to Wilster you have a very beautiful view of the Wilsterau. Here it flows gently meandering through a flat landscape with wide fields and meadows.

The outer dike of St. Margarethen is located near the Elbe and is now an important bird sanctuary. Originally, this area was part of a dike system that protected the hinterland from flooding. Over time, the harbor creek became increasingly silted up and port operations were discontinued. Today, the outer dike provides an important habitat for numerous bird species and is a popular destination for nature observation and cycling tours. The outer dike and the surrounding area are ideal for hikes and bike rides along the Elbe, with wonderful views of the passing ships. Historically, the area was also the site of a pilot station, but this was not rebuilt after a fire in 1902.

The Hollerwettern lower light is a lighthouse in Schleswig-Holstein and is part of the Brokdorf-Hollerwettern lighthouse system. This system consists of two lighthouses: the lower light and the upper light, which together serve as a leading light for navigation on the Elbe. The lower light was commissioned in 1982 and has a height of 21.6 meters. It is built of concrete and is located near Wewelsfleth in the municipality of Steinburg. The original lower light was erected in 1911, but decommissioned on September 15, 1982, and replaced by the new structure. The old lighthouse had a height of 18 meters and is now a cultural monument in Schleswig-Holstein. The lighthouse system helps ships navigate safely through the Elbe estuary by generating a synchronized light sequence with the upper light. The Hollerwettern lower light is a prominent landmark along the Elbe and part of the region's maritime history. It is also a popular photo opportunity and is often visited by tourists who wish to explore the area.
