Near the Flügelwegbrücke, in the direction of Briesnitz, there is a beer garden. A little further in the direction of Briesnitz, there is an Edeka supermarket and other options for groceries. Additionally, you have good connections to the city; you can get to the city center with lines 1, 12, and 68. In the direction of the city, along the Elbe Cycle Route, you can get from the Flügelwegbrücke to Alberthafen, where you can stay overnight and get very delicious food. Further in the direction of the city, you reach the Flutrinne, which is known in Dresden for its concerts and other events. At the Flutrinne, there is also the Messe Dresden, and further in the direction of the city, there are many different sports opportunities.

Schloss Übigau was built between 1724 and 1726 on behalf of Imperial Count Jacob Heinrich von Flemming, but was acquired by Elector Augustus the Strong shortly before its completion. In the mid-19th century, under Johann Andreas Schubert, it was the administrative headquarters of the Übigau mechanical engineering company and is thus closely linked to the construction of the Saxonia, the first locomotive built outside England. In the 1920s, it served as the company headquarters for the neighboring Übigau shipyard. Schloss Übigau is located directly on the Elbe in the former World Heritage site of the Dresden Elbe Valley. The renovation of the cultural monument, planned and urgently needed since the 1990s by various owners, will likely also be made possible by the fact that the building is opened on certain occasions. Since November 2017, the castle has had a new owner who wishes to remain anonymous. Starting in July 2019, the Comödie Dresden summer theater will take place in the castle park. The windows and doors have been repaired, the two entrance stairs have been renovated, and the royal sandstone coats of arms on the facade have been reconstructed. Visible from the outside, the building serves as a backdrop for the annual summer open-air event of the Comödie Dresden. Public access is not possible.
