(2) It is an imposing, spacious building in the Neo-Byzantine style. Striking features include the combination of round apses, the bright white facade with a yellow-contrasted foundation, and the typical Greek red tile roof. The church is known for its spirituality and aesthetics. The interior is adorned with magnificent Orthodox frescoes, artistic iconographies, and a large, intricately carved iconostasis (icon wall). Every year during the Easter holidays, the church gains particular fame: on the evening of Good Friday, the procession of the Epitaphios (the symbolic tomb of Christ) from the church of Agia Paraskevi, together with the procession of the neighboring church of Agios Demetrios, winds its way through the streets to the historic Venetian harbor.

The castle of Nafpaktos is one of the best-preserved and architecturally most fascinating fortifications in all of Greece. What makes it special is the seamless interplay of mountain and city fortifications, which extends from the top of the hill right down to the sea. The Five-Zone System (Diazomata): The complex extends pyramidally over a hill about 200 meters high. Two long wall arms extend from the uppermost citadel (Acropolis), following the natural terrain. Four transverse walls connect these arms and divide the fortification into five independent defensive levels.
