Cute, small, and fairly new hut on the edge of the Rheinsteig trail. With its own path. Perfect for a break.

Well-maintained equipment invites children to romp around in the great outdoors. The wooden sculpture is somewhat hidden next to the playground, which was well-attended.

A beautiful stretch of path, almost like a huge city park. Not much of the Römergraben can be seen.

You can hike or walk in countless directions here and it's an experience in all of them. Whether to the Limes replica of the good Romans, the Köppel (my favorite), the NR5 towards Rengsdorf, the Aubach valley up to Hardert or to the Dreiwetterhütte. And on quiet days just around the lake and to the restaurant. Simply great.

Unfortunately, the wide path behind the hut, which leads up the mountain to the ruins, is currently not accessible. (January 26, 2015) Otherwise, it is very convenient from both directions and offers space for many people.
